Data processed
The following data is collected in order to create and manage an account for the restricted area:
- first name;
- surname;
- email address;
- password chosen by the user;
- date and time of registration;
- date and time of the most recent login;
- any technical data necessary for the security and operation of the account.
The password is managed by the system in a protected form and cannot be viewed in plain text by the website administrators.
Purposes of the processing
The data is processed for the following purposes:
- creating and managing the personal account;
- identifying and authenticating the user;
- allowing access to the restricted area;
- allowing the user to view and download restricted PDF documents;
- providing assistance in the event of access problems;
- protecting the account and the website against unauthorised access or misuse;
- managing account deactivation or deletion.
Registration for the restricted area does not automatically result in subscription to the newsletter or the sending of promotional communications.
Legal basis
The processing of the data required to create and manage the account is based on the performance of the service requested by the user, pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) of EU Regulation 2016/679.
The processing of technical data and login information is based on the legitimate interest of Sige S.p.A. in ensuring the security of the restricted area, preventing unauthorised access and protecting its systems, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of EU Regulation 2016/679.
Consent is not required in order to create and use the account.
Provision of data
Providing first name, surname, email address and password is necessary in order to create the account and access the restricted documents.
Failure to provide such data will make it impossible to complete the registration and use the restricted area.
Processing methods and recipients
The data is processed using electronic and telematic tools, with appropriate measures adopted to protect it against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or unlawful use.
The following parties may access the data, within the limits of their respective duties:
- authorised personnel of Sige S.p.A.;
- website administrators;
- hosting service providers;
- technicians responsible for website maintenance and security;
- email service providers used for communications relating to the account.
External parties processing data on behalf of Sige S.p.A. are appointed as Data Processors where the applicable requirements are met.
The data is not disseminated.
Retention period
The data is retained for the entire duration of the account.
Accounts that have not recorded any login activity for more than 24 months may be deactivated and subsequently deleted, following verification by Sige S.p.A.
The user may request deletion of their account at any time by writing to info@sige-spa.it.
Following deletion, certain technical data may be retained for the period strictly necessary to ensure system security, manage any disputes, comply with legal obligations or protect a right of Sige S.p.A.
Data transfers
Where certain technical service providers process data outside the European Economic Area, any transfer will take place in compliance with Articles 44 and following of EU Regulation 2016/679 and on the basis of the safeguards required by applicable law.
Automated decision-making
Data relating to the restricted area is not used to make decisions based solely on automated processing and is not used for profiling activities.
User rights
The user may:
- request access to their personal data;
- request its rectification or updating;
- request deletion of the account and the related data;
- obtain restriction of processing where applicable;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- request data portability, where applicable;
- lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
